Setting-up your Emails in Apple Mail

These instructions are for setting-up your email on Mavericks (OS10.9) Mail.app, if you are using an older version of Apple Mail the set-up process may differ slightly from what is shown below.

Initial Setup

Go to the Mail.app then click to the Accounts... menu link

Scroll down in the right hand menu and select Add Other Account...

Select Add a Mail Account

Enter your name - your email address and the password you have been supplied.

You will then need to hold down the alt key ⌥ so that the Create button changes to Next (see image)

Select whether you want to set up your account as POP or IMAP - and then fill in the following details replacing you@example.com with your details:

Mail Server: primary.mushroominternet.com
User Name: you@example.com
Password: password provided in an email

Click next and then fill in the outgoing server details:

Mail Server: primary.mushroominternet.com
User Name: you@example.com
Password: password provided in an email

Congratulations, your account is now ready. We do still need to perform a couple of tweaks to complete set up.

Firstly go back to Mail.app and then go to Preferences... from the menu
